So once we chose a name for ourselves, we had to choose a logo. Our name, Something Splendid, is a response to the directive that many clients give designers - that they want Something Pretty or Something Cool.
How boring - we're an enthusiastic duo, and we believe in getting carried away with things. We won't simply do something suitable; we will always go over the top.
And what could be more over the top than explosions?
Unfortunately, our starting budget barely covered our operating beer expenses, yet alone TNT. So we had to make do with rendering our logo with light. We cut out the logo from black cardboard, and shone all manners of light behind it and photographed it with long exposures.
